A furniture rail gauging and aligning tool

A gauging tool 3 for mounting the body rails (2) of a drawer pull-out guide assembly to the furniture side walls comprises, a gauging plate (4) adapted to be positioned by a handle 13 to abut the front edge 1' of the furniture side wall, a member 5 at right angles to the plate 4 and adapted to hold a rail 2 horizontally, a clamping plate 6 integral with member 5, and a clamp 7 engaging a recess in the plate 6 and extending around the side 1 to the inside of the side wall. The rail 2 may thus be held in a position determined by a notch 14 in the plate 4 and may be fixed in position by a tool inserted through recesses 9 in the member 5.
