Reaction between KHSO4 and KC1 produces potassium sulfate and HC1 gas. Improved continuous reactor for K2SO4 manufacturing is a horizontal muffle furnace (1) with a semi-circular head, designed for suitable agitation and heat transfer. Agitator shaft (8) is installed with impellers (7, 13) that can rotate inversely in a short time for complete mixing of product. Heat duty for overall reaction is supplied through the wall of the furnace (2); the heat source for terminating the reaction is supplied through the nozzle (5). Product gas is purged through a gas outlet nozzle (6).
