PURPOSE:To simplify, in construction and assemblying, a card returning and storing mechanism in which the data on a magnetic card or the like is read and then, the card is returned, by providing a solenoid operated selector for selectively opening and closing passages for returning the card and for storing the card. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic card type public phone, after the completion of a call, a magnetic card 4 having a residual number of allowable calls is led to a card returning passage 9 through a card reciprocatingly travelling passage 1, and then is led out to a return opening 7 by means of a roller 20 and an idle roller 23. Meanwhile, a magnetic card 4 having no residual number of allowable calls, is unusable, and therefore, a selector 12 is rotated counterclockwise, overcoming a spring 33, by advancing and driving a solenoid 31. Thereby, the card returning passage 9 is closed by moving the front end of the selector 12 to the front side of a driven belt 6, while the idle roller 23 is separated from a conveyor belt 5, simultaneously with opening a card storing passage 11, thereby the magnetic card 4 is dropped and stored in a storing box 10. |
