PURPOSE:To enable cargo work onto a hull to be carried readily without rolling or pitching of the hull, by forming to a guay a rest surface in a water body at a depth that is approximately the same as the height of the hull, and adjusting the ballast of the hull so that the hull is allowed to rest on the rest surface. CONSTITUTION:The bottom surface 2 of the hull B having a deck 1 on which heavy things A are to be put is made flat, and the hull rest surface 3 having a depth approximately the same as the height H1 from the bottom surface 2 to the deck 1 is built to the cargo handling guay C. Ballast water is charged into a tank 5 of the hull B so that the hull may be rested on the rest surface 3, the deck 1 is kept approximately flush with the top surface of the guay, a plank 7 is laid on them, and then cargo work of the heavy things onto the hull is carried out by roll-on-off. As the hull B is rested on the rest surface, at the time of the roll-on-off the hull B would not roll or pitch. |
