A chair support column comprises within a casing tube 1 which can be mounted directly on a support base, a spindle tube 7 which is rotatable and longitudinally displaceable relative to a lining sleeve 3 and on the head end of which the chair can be attached. The spindle tube carries at its lower end a roller lock 8 which can be controlled from the seat region via a control rod 16 and whose rollers 10 can be either engaged with or disengaged from the inner surface of the lining sleeve 3. The lining sleeve 3 is supported rotatably in the casing tube 1 via a spring arrangement 6 to protect the roller lock from harsh stress. <IMAGE> |
