PURPOSE:To facilitate the measuring operations of an enzymic activity, by means of one concentration sensing electrode provided in the liquid flow path of a flow system and a buffer solution feed part in the course of the flow path. CONSTITUTION:A flow path from a buffer solution feed part 10 to flow cell 2 and a flow path from a reaction part 1 to the flow cell 2 are formed by a change-over operation of a valve 11, and base signals and electric signals are obtained from an electrode 8 to prepare a calibration curve between the concentration of the substance to be sensed and the electrical signals. After completing the calibration operations, a sample solution containing enzymes is injected from a sample solution feed part 4 into a reaction part 1, and a solution containing a substrate for the enzymes is injected from a feed part 5 for the solution containing the substrate for the enzymes into the reaction part 1 respectively. After a given time, the reaction solution is then introduced into the flow cell 2 to obtain the initial concentration of the substance to be sensed as the electric signals. The reaction is further advanced to give the change in the electric signals corresponding to the concentration change, and the change in the electric signals is compared with the above-mentioned calibrated values to measure the aimed enzymic activity. |
