PURPOSE:To display the residual quantity of papers with the use of variation in the output current of a photosensor due to the relative movement between the photosensor and a reflector plate for changing the output current of the photosensor, by selectively disposing the photosensor and the reflector plate on an elevatable part and a stationary part. CONSTITUTION:In case that papers 1 are loaded on a tray 2 at its maximum quantity, a white color part 6a of a reflector plate 6 is positioned, facing to a photosensor 5. Meanwhile, in case that the quantity of the papers 1 on the tray 2 is small, a black part 6b of the reflector plate 6 is positioned, facing to the photosensor 5. When the strength of the color on the reflector plate 6 in the part facing to the photosensor 5 more and more increases as the quantity of the papers 1 decreases from the maximum loaded quantity, the output current value of the photosensor 5 more and more decreases. The output current from the photosensor 5 selectively lights on LED groups 21a through 21b of the number corresponding to the number of color strength pattern segments on the reflector plate 6, through an amplifier 17, an A/D converter 18, a controller 19 and an LED driver 20. |
