PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of power generation of a battery by a method wherein an electrode for power take-out is provided on a surface along the grain boundary of a polycrystalline substrate, when the electric output of a solar battery is taken out to the outside. CONSTITUTION:When the surface electrode 1' to take out the electric output of the solar battery to the outside is formed, it is selectively formed on the crystal grain boundary 2' of the substrate and in the periphery thereof. Where, since the periphery of the crystal grain boundary is essentially a region of low efficiency of power generation and without effective operations as the solar battery, the decrease of output is not caused even in case of providing the electrode 1' thereon. In this constitution, while scanning the surface of the battery element with a laser scanner, the short current of the element is measured, thus the position of the crystal grain boundary is obtained, and then this pattern is stored in a microcomputer, in order to detect the crystal grain boundary. Thereafter, development, metal evaporation, removal of a resist, etc. can be performed by forming the photo resist film on the element surface and then irradiating an electron beam in deflection in accordance with the stored pattern. |
