PURPOSE:To print a multi-color picture in intermediate tone with high picture quality, by setting a screen angle of different dither density pattern at each color based on only a memory of a position on a picture display marix coordinate of the nearest dot at the center of each dither density pattern. CONSTITUTION:A picture density data from an RAM101 is applied to a generator 102, a prescribed dither density pattern is read out at each picture density, the density data of each column is applied to a parallel-series converter 107 and shifted sequentially as a time series density data and read out. To provide the screen angle at each color for the data, the position coordinate of the center dot is read out from a generator 102 by shifting the order of the matrix arrangement of the density data, in response to the shift from the center at the dot matrix at each picture element of the center dot coordinate from a position information table TBLI103 stored in matching with the screen angle. The readout is advanced in the dot unit with the counting of a coordinate counter XCNT104, a YCNT105 and a column counter RCNT106. |
