PURPOSE:To shorten transient time of starting, by providing the 1st and the 2nd heat sources consisting of infrared lamps enclosing inert gas and held at specific temperature, and converging their heat rays almost the opposite heat sources respectively. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a paper base where toner sticks faces the 1st heat source 9 and the opposite surface to the toner sticking surface faces the 2nd heat source 8; and the 2nd heat source 8 heats the reverse surface of the paper base and the toner sticking surface is irradiated with heat rays from the 1st heat source 9 to fuse a toner image on the paper base. This 1st heat source 9 uses a quartz tube 14 type infrared lamp enclosing inert gas. Then, the color temperature of the heating body of this lamp is set to 1,200-2,000 deg.K and reflecting plates 9a and 8a provided outside of the 1st and the 2nd heat sources 9 and 8 converge the infrared rays from the 1st heat source 9 almost to the 2nd heat source 9 and those from the 2nd heat source 8 almost to the 1st heat source 9 respectively. |
