PURPOSE:To measure relative humidity in a wide range by a small-sized and light weight apparatus even under the circumstance of bad conditions, by converting the variation in expansion and contraction amounts of a humidity sensing member such as hair to the strain variation of a spring member and converting said variation to an electric signal by a strain guage. CONSTITUTION:The hair 101 of a humidity sensing part 1 is stretched without looseness by fixing with an adhesive agent a chocking frame 102 between a free end 301 of the spring member 3 and an upper end 501 of a support 5. The member 3 bends a little and is constituted from a relatively thin sheet spring so that it bends even by application of a small load. Strain gauges 21-24 are stuck to measure the strain corresponding to the bending stress due to such bend. If the humidity is varied, the hair 101 expands and contracts and the material 3 bends, thus the resistances of the gauges 21-24 are varied and are converted to the voltage variation by a bridge circuit. |
