PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of an end plate made of a base metal by welding an outer cylinder made of a precious metal and the end plate, forming the end surface of a welding penetrating section in approximately the same surface as the plate surface of the end plate and interposing a sealing material between the end surface and a bracket. CONSTITUTION:The outer cylinder 1, on the inside thereof a stator core 2 is fixed, is constituted by the precious metal such as stainless steel, and the end plate 4 fitted to the inner circumference of the end section of the outer cylinder 1 is constituted by the base metal such as ordinary structural rolled steel while the end section of the outer cylinder 1 and the end plate 4 are welded by using a welding wire made of the precious metal such as stainless steel. The end surface 51 of the welding penetrating section 5 is machined so as to form the same surface as the plate surface 41 of the end plate 4, a clad surface to the bracket 7 is formed, and the soft sheet material 11 made of an insulator is interposed between the clad surface and the bracket 7. Accordingly, a contact with external water is interrupted by the welding penetrating section 5 in the end plate 4, and local battery is not formed through external water, thus improving corrosion resistance. |
