PURPOSE:To obtain a CCD of high resolution and less false signal by a method wherein a solid-state image pickup element chip substrate is oscillated in a direction horizontal to incident rays, and the center of this oscillation and accumulated signal charges are transferred into a vertical CCD while being slightly deviated in timing. CONSTITUTION:A light shielding Al electrode provided with an aperture part is oscillated in the horizontal direction x together with the chip substrate of an interline transfer type CCD. In an A field, when the oscillation at this time is performed in a triangle waveform, and oscillated by making the center of the aperture part of the effective region of picture elements coincide with the point x=0, the triangle waveform moves to a right direction and performs image pickup operations till returning to the point 0, accordingly transfers the accumulated signals into the vertical CCD at this point. Thereat, the waveform phiFSG of the impressed voltage on a field shift gate changes from a low level voltage VL to a high level voltage VH. Next, in a field B, when returned again to the point x=0 after moving to left, the signal charges are likewise transferred into the CCD. Thus, two trapezoidal forms of sensitivity are obtained in right and left, and accordingly the number of picture elements is apparently doubled. |
