PURPOSE:To obtain a novel and efficient solar battery by superposing two amorphous silicon solar batteries on an Si single crystal solar battery, thereby largely reducing the manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION:An N type layer 9 is formed on a P type single crystal silicon substrate 8, thereby forming a p-n junction. A P type electrode 10 is formed on the back surface of the substrate 8, and a P type amoprhous layer 11 made of amorphous silicon, an i-type amorphous layer 12, an n type amorphous layer 13 are sequentially accumulated on the layer 9. Further, the second P type amorphous layer 14, the second i-type amorphous layer 15, the second N type amorphous layer 16 are formed. A transparent condcutive film 17 to become a photoreceiving surface is covered to form an N type electrode 18. By considering the p-n junction unit, three solar battery cells are superposed, thereby eliminating the selection, arranging of the cells, connection of leads, formation of conductive pattern of the substrate can be eliminated. |
