PURPOSE:To provide the titled alloy high in practical magnetic permeability and saturation magnetic flux density, excellent in wear resisting, property and made sitable for a magnetic head with a narrow gap width, by adding a specific amount of Ru to an Fe-Si-Al alloy having a specific composition. CONSTITUTION:This inventive alloy with high magnetic permeability consists of 3-10wt% Al, 4-11wt% Si, 2.1-20wt% Ru and the remainder Fe while has saturation magnetic flux density equal to or higher than that of ferrite as well as wear resisting property more excellent than that of said ferrite and can obtain strong leak magnetic flux even in a narrow gap as a magnetic head core material. In the reason for limitting the componential composition of the above mentioned alloy, if the contents of Al and Si are below the lower limit and exceed the upper limit, practical magnetic permeability is extremely lowered and the use thereof as the magnetic head core made impossible while, if the content of Ru is below the lower limit, wear resisting property becomes insufficient and, if exceeds the upper limit, a harmful phase is crystallized out while magnetic characteristics and hardness are lowered abruptly. |
