PURPOSE:To eliminate the lack of penetration owing to the fluctuation in oscillation width and to enable the use of large current, by providing a sliding chip, and energizing a band electrode inserted into an electrode nozzle elastically to the inside wall of the electrode nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A band electrode 1 is inserted into an electrode nozzle 2 contained in a shielding gas nozzle 5. A sliding chip consisting of, for example, an electrode supporting block 6 and a leaf spring 7 is provided near the bottom end part of the nozzle 2. The electrode 1 is energized elastically to the inside wall of the nozzle 2 by said sliding chip. The arc is oscillated naturally by the above- mentioned device, whereby the lack of penetration owing to the fluctuation in oscillation width is prevented and the use of large current is made possible. |
