PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having a stable organic thin film with respect to heat with an absorption band on the side of long wavelength thereof by providing an organic thin film containing a specified pyrylium dye in an optical recording medium for laser writing and recording. CONSTITUTION:An organic thin film containing 1-90wt% of pyrylium dye like compound in formula II as given by the general formula I (where, X represents atom of S, O or SE, Z1 hydrocarbon group comprising atom groups necessary for completing pyrylium, thiopyrylium or the like allowed to be substituted, Z2 hydrocarbon group comprising atom groups necessary for completing pyrane, thiopyrane or the like allowed to be substituted, R1-R4 hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group and the like, R5-R7 hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group and the like and A<-> anion) is formed on a substrate at dry thickness of less than 10mum. A reflection layer made of a reflective metal may be provided between the substrate and the thin film. |
