Method of establishing plane portions on rail wheels on moving rail vehicles. In this connection, the wheel-bearing force against the rail over at least one wheel circumference is measured continuously by means of a gauge length or section-by- section by means of a number of measurement points forming a gauge length. From the measurement values obtained in this way, a mean value corresponding to the bearing force of a wheel without plane portions, and at least one peak value, are established by low-pass filtering, and the two values are compared with one another. The difference or ratio between these values is then a measure of flat portions which occur. <IMAGE> |
