PURPOSE:To reduce fuel consumption, by providing an intake air recirculating passage and a supercharge passage and using the intake air recirculating passage at a low load to reduce a pump loss while the supercharge passage at a high load to perform supercharge and obtain a high output. CONSTITUTION:At low load operation, an opening and closing valve 15 is opened. An intake air recirculating valve 9 is opened and closed with a time delay to an intake valve 7, and at a compression stroke of an engine E, intake air in a cylinder C is partly recirculated toward an intake passage 10 through an intake air recirculating port 3 and an intake air recirculating passage 14. At high load operation, the valve 15 is closed. A detector 23 generates an output signal and a clutch 22 is connected to drive a supercharger 20 by the engine E. From the final period of an intake stroke to the beginning of a compression stroke, a supercharge is performed to the engine E through a supercharge passage 21. |
