PURPOSE:To generate dot patterns of characters having diacritical marks with a simple constitution, by outputting basic character information and character modifying information, which are stored in a memory, in time division and inputting them to a character pattern generator. CONSTITUTION:A character counter 11 is controlled by a dot counter 8 to address a buffer RAM5, and basic character data and diacritical mark data of every one character are outputted in time division, and both data are inputted to a character pattern generator 7 separately from each other. Dot data of a dot line, which is designated by a latch 15, out of dot data of a dot pattern corresponding to both data is synthesized for every one character in the generator 7, and one-line components of dot data are outputted successively to a shift register 17 and is inputted to a thermal recording part 20 through an OR circuit 18 and a bold printing circuit 19. Thus, one-line components of character are printed in every one dot line. |
