PURPOSE:To smoothly revolve an engine, by interlocking a flywheel rotated at a higher speed than an engine speed to a crankshaft and thereby reducing torque and speed changes generated between idle side and operative side cylinders at partial cylinder operation. CONSTITUTION:An engine main unit 1 is provided with operative side cylinders 2, 3 and idle side cylinders 4, 5 whose operation is stopped by limiting opening action of intake and exhaust valves in a light load range of an engine. Revolving speed of a crankshaft 6 is increased by pulleys 7, 9, 14, 17 to increase rotary speed of a flywheel 16. An electromagnetic clutch 11 arranged to one side of the pulley 9 transmits revolution of the crankshaft 6 to a driving shaft 13 at excitation of the clutch 11 to rotatively drive the flywheel 16. A cam 27 for opening and closing an intake valve 20 in an intake stroke at operation and a cam 28 of true circle identical to a base circle of the cam 27 are formed neighboring to a cam shaft 25, and sliding of a rocker arm 21 is positioned by a ring 29. |
