Hydroxyethyl azole compounds (I) or their salts are produced by the reaction of l-halogeno-ethane-2-O1 (IV) with azole (V), where Az=imidazole or triazole radical; R= substi-tuted phenyl, naphthyl or tetrahydro naphthyl radical; R1=phenyl or cycloalkyl radical; R2=hydrogen, ortho-substituted methylene bridge of several CH2 radicals together with R1, or naphthyl with phenyl ring; R3=halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, or halogenoalkyl; n= 0,1,2,3; Y= halogen atom; and Z= hydrogen atom or alkaline metal.
