摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To make the deviation in display to mil, by using a nematic liquid crystal having a hybrid oriented part and a homeotropically oriented part and contg. a dichromatic dye for a liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION:A display electrode 3 is provided on an upper glass substrate 1 and a common electrode 4 is provided on a lower glass substrate 2. A homogeneously oriented surface 9 and a homeotropically oriented surface 10 can be formed on the surface of the substrate 1 by subjecting a homogeneous orientation treatment on said surface then applying a required mask on the electrode 3 and subjecting the same to a homeotropic orientation treatment. A homeotropically oriented surface 10 can be formed over the entire surface of the substrate 2 by applying a homeotropic orientation treatment thereon. A hybrid oriented part 7 is formed between the electrode 3 of the substrate 1 and the electrode 4 of the substrate 2 by a liquid crystal molecule 5 and a dichromatic dye 6 and a homeotropically oriented part 8 is formed by the molecule 5 and the dye 6 in the other part between the substrates.</p>
