This electromechanical transducer has a piezo-electric ceramic body that consists of Pb1-aMa(Mg(l-b)/3Mnb/3Sb2/3)-xTiyZrzO3, in which M is Ca, Sr, and/or Ba; a is 0-0.15; b is 0-0.20; X is 0.01-0.25 y is 0.40-0.55; Z is 0.20-0.59; and x+y+z is l. Pref. X is 0.125-0.15, y is 0.44-0.46, and Z is 0.38-0.44, and the molar fraction of Sr is 0.05. The body can be polarised between l sec. and 5 mins. at room temp., and has good stability. It is useful for low-power application, e.g. buzzers, smoke detectors, high frequency loudspeakers.
