PURPOSE:To improve fuel consumption, by providing clutches to the upper part of a driving shaft and wheel axles and preventing unnecessary revolution of the wheels at two-wheel driving to reduce a load. CONSTITUTION:An engine 3 drives rear wheels 7 through a transmission 4 and a differential gear mechanism 8. Front wheels 6 are driven from the transmission 4 through a clutch 10, driving shaft 5, differential gear mechanism 9, axles 11 and clutches 12. Each clutch is connected to perform 4-wheel driving, if the clutch is disconnected, these rotary systems are not rotated from both the engine and the front wheel. In this way, a load is decreased at 2-wheel driving time, and fuel consumption can be reduced. |
