PURPOSE:To dispense with some piping and improve assembly work, by providing the body of a master cylinder with an expanded part and fitting the part with a valve for holding the braking pressure of one line and with an automatic valve for holding the braking pressure of another line. CONSTITUTION:The body 4 of a master cylinder 2 is integrally provided with an expanded part 11 in which a valve section 3 is provided. The valve section 3 comprises a brake holding valve 36 for holding the braking pressure of one line and an automatic valve 35 for holding the braking pressure of another line. The main pressure chamber 8 of the master cylinder 2 is connected to one brake operating unit through the holding valve 36. The auxiliary pressure chamber 9 of the master cylinder 2 is connected to another brake operating unit through the automatic valve 35. The motion of a differential plunger 48, which receives the pressure of both the lines, causes the automatic valve 35 to operate a check valve 60 which allows a fluid to move only from the auxiliary pressure chamber 9 to the latter brake operating unit. The automatic valve 35 is formed as such a unit that the plunger 48 and a cut valve 48 are built in the body 46. |
