<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a desulfurizing agent low in performance degradation rate and high in strength, by bringing oxygen contg. gas into contact with coal at a temp. not exceeding a specified temp., immersing the coal into a slurry contg. ash produced by burning heavy oil, and after removal of the liquid, heating it to a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:Coal 3 crushed and classified is supplied to a low temp. oxidizing apparatus 102, a gas 4 contg. the coal and the oxygen-contg. gas are brought into direct contact to develop the fine pores of the coal at a temp. not above 400 deg.C. The cooled coal is immersed into a slurry 9 contg. ash produced by burning heavy oil in a tank 104 for a prescribed time, and the coal is separated from the liquid with a solid liquid separator 106. After the coal 13 free from the liquid has been dried, it is heat treated in a dry distillation oven 108 at temps. not below 700 deg.C. As a result, a desulfurizing agent high in strength and low in rate of performance degradation due to repeated cycles of adsorption and regeneration by heat desorption can be obtained at low cost.</p> |
