PURPOSE:To improve liquid leakage-proofness of a cell by providing the cell with a gasket consisting of a sealing material, wherein a synthetic resin mainly composed of olefin hydrocarbons is mixed with silicate, with regard to the gasket of the cell. CONSTITUTION:A gasket 5 consists mainly of polypropylene to with calcium silicate Ca SiO3 is added by 10%. The sealing material, whose creep-proofness is improved by adding silicate, has a particularly remarkable effect against liquid leakage of an electrolyte of a cell as compared with that whose creep- proofness is improved by mixing other materials such as glass fiber and carbon fiber. The same effect can be seen also in the case of the gasket wherein calcium silicate is added to the main material polyethylene besides polypropylene. |
