Apparatus used as an aid for exercises in water and adapted to travel along the flange of the overflow channel of a swimming pool

As a replacement for a gripping bar, which cannot be fitted on a swimming pool with an overflow channel, an apparatus to be used as an aid was developed as a mobile gripping bar system. It comprises an intrinsically stable framework of stainless tubing which, in triangular form (Fig. 3), is composed of two upper booms as gripping bars and, for reasons of reinforcement, of a lower boom, which is connected to the two upper booms by corresponding diagonals (Figs. 1 and 2). The apparatus is placed on each side by two or more plastic rollers onto the flange of the overflow channel of a swimming pool and guided by the said channel in the running direction along the longitudinal sides of the pool. The apparatus thus offers the possibility of a two-sided gripping bar system (Fig. 2) for various exercises in water which is adapted to travel to any desired position of a swimming pool and is located just a few centimetres above the surface of the water. The apparatus weighs about 75 kg and, when not in use, is lifted out of the flange by two persons using grips provided on the two supports and is hung on the wall at the end of the swimming baths. <IMAGE>
