The control device according to the invention relates to sewing machines with electronic speed regulation or with electronic speed regulation and electronic seam-pattern control. The object of the invention is to provide a circuit board equipped with few integrated circuits and in the form of a module which can be connected by means of plug connections to an electronic speed regulation and to an electronic seam-pattern control, so that the electronic speed regulation present in the sewing machine can be extended, on the one hand, by the functions "needle positioning", "single-stitch sewing" and "limiting of the maximum final speed" and, on the other hand, by an electronic seam-pattern control. Both operating elements and electronic components are located on the circuit board of the module according to the invention. The sector of use is restricted to sewing machines having an electronically controlled drive.
