The invention relates to a complex safety device for the reel mounting of high-speed stranding machines, the reel retention of which is locked mechanically and released by means of pneumatic or hydraulic elements, the locking position being secured positively and the reel frame being monitored for pivoting or co-rotation by means of a light-barrier system. The object according to the invention is to combine the existing safety devices into a complex and thereby eliminate existing defects of the individual devices.
