The gun described consists of a cylindrical barrel with a removable breech part at the rear end and a removable muzzle at the front end. The barrel can contain a projectile which is intended to be fired and consists of solid materials, but can also be filled with a liquid, for example with water, as a charge to be fired. By designing the barrel with a smooth continuous inner bore of uniform diameter and with an internal thread provided at the rear end, it is possible to use exchangeable screw-in barrels which can be adapted to different propellent-charge cartridges. According to the different types of propellent-charge cartridges which can be used, there is a breech part which can both receive a striking pin for the actuation of percussion fuses and allows the insertion of the electrical ignition lines of appropriate propellent-charge cartridges. <IMAGE>
