The invention relates to a device for taking lithium samples during the enrichment of tritium in metallic lithium by high-temperature distillation. The device should be easy to operate and should make it possible to take a reproducible amount of lithium. According to the teaching of the invention, the device comprises a container, which comprises an upper part and a cover and which is vacuum-sealable and connectable to a vacuum line and a gas line. In the lower part of the container, a sample ladle is suspended on gimbals. Above the sample ladle, there is the mouth of a feed line projecting into the container, which feed line conveys the distillation product and is used to fill the sample ladle with lithium. The lower part of the container is expediently funnel-shaped and debouches into a downward discharge line for excess lithium.
