The invention relates to a monovalent air/water heat pump with a compressor, a condenser and an evaporator, which are interconnected via a circuit, and a fan, with which the air is conveyed through the evaporator. In order, in such a heat pump, to bring it about that the evaporator does not frost or ice up even in the temperature range below +2 DEG C and that the investment costs are as low as possible in relation to comparable known systems, the compressor capacity, the fan capacity and the evaporator dimensions are adapted to one another in such a manner that the air is not heated below the saturation temperature. <IMAGE>
