This method allows to obtain an exchange of material in a liquid, particularly in a mixture of waste water and activated sludge. The liquid is displaced by a screw in an essentially horizontal main stream. It forms the conveyed medium. Hence, additional liquid eddy is produced in the main liquid stream in the ending areas of the screw propeller blades, the latter being built without outer tubular sleeve. The medium is introduced for an intensive material exchange substantially exclusively in the area of said liquid stream eddy.
