PURPOSE:To control the solidifying point in continuous casting in an adequate position, by detecting the reaction of casting that twin mold rolls receive in the stage of drawing an ingot, comparing the same with a set value and increasing or decreasing the flow rate of cooling water. CONSTITUTION:The reaction of casting to be generated in the stage of drawing and rolling in a continuous casting installation is detected as the reaction of drawing by means of compression type load cells 7-10 supported to the fulcurm shafts 11 of twin mold rolls 1. The reaction is also detected as the reaction of rolling by means of tension type load cells 12, 13 connected to the shafts 11. The respective detected values are inputted to a comparing operator 18, by which the values are compared with the respective set values of an upper limit setter 14 and a lower limit setter 15 for the reaction of drawing and an upper limit setter 16 and a lower limit setter 17 for the reaction of rolling. When the plural values among the respective input signals of the cells 7-10, 12, 13 exceed the range of the set values, a signal for increasing or decreasing the flow rate of cooling water is emitted to control a hydraulic pump 19 with a controller 20. The perfectly solidified point of an ingot is thus maintained in the adequate position upper than the horizontal line connecting the axial centers of the rolls 1. |
