PURPOSE:To shorten the time until a motor is completely stopped s well as speed up printing operation by a method in which a controller for the electric current of a motor is provided in the fine stoppage position control circuit 9 of a carriage is provided and when the motor enters the fine position control section, drive current is made smaller. CONSTITUTION:A rotary encoder 21 is provided to the shaft of the drive pulley 18 of a timing belt 19 to hold a carraige, slits 22 are provided in the rotary encoder 21, and a light projector 23 and a light-receiver 24 are provided. A motor position signal A and a rotational direction signal B, each having 90 deg.- biased E-wave forms, are sent out and put in a digital servo conttoller. A resistor on the output side of the inverter 7a of a fine stoppage position control circuit 7 for the carriage is divided into two resistors R3, R3 and connected in series, and limiter 7C is connected between these. In the fine position control section for the carriage, the electric current in the accelerating direction is made extremely smaller by the limiter 7c, and thereby the carriage is stopped at given position in a short time. |
