The apparatus operates with hot air and has a cylindrical blowing nozzle (1), in which a cone element (4) is arranged coaxially, in such a way that an annular gap (6) is formed between the base rim of the cone element and the inner wall of the blowing nozzle. The hot air flowing through the blowing nozzle is aligned at the cone element and the annular gap and leaves the blowing nozzle in the form of a substantially laminar cylindrical hot-air jet (18). By virtue of the diameter of the cylindrical hot-air jet being adapted to the diameter of the bottle neck, the hot air acts directly and uniformly on the entire surface of the bottle capsule, which abruptly shrink-fits correspondingly smoothly and uniformly. <IMAGE>
