The invention relates to a flow divider for dividing a hydraulic flow independently of load or for combining two partial flows independently of load, with a hollow control-piston arrangement arranged in an inner bore and having radial orifice openings which form with consumer-connection openings two adjustable control orifices, the mutual pressure drop of which controls the displacement movements of the control-piston arrangement. It is found in practice that the control orifice in which precisely the weaker pressure prevails actually always dominates. It is a disadvantage here that the dominating control orifice "over-compensates", as a result of which a consumer attached to it leads or lags in relation to the consumer attached to the other control orifice. According to the invention this disadvantage is removed owing to the fact that in each case an additional flow connection by-passing the control orifices is provided from the inner bore to each consumer connection. These flow connections compensate the "over-compensation effect" in a certain volumetric delivery range, as a result of which synchronous loading of the two consumers takes place, specifically during the inflow and the outflow.
