PURPOSE:To ensure stable supporting of the work regardless of the presence or absence of irregularity on the work surface, by locking a plurality of wedge shafts in association with the sliding of a linking bar, and releasing the locking and wedge action. CONSTITUTION:When wedge shafts 26 are pushed in concave parts formed by notched parts 29a of a linking bar 29 in association with the movement in the direction F, a wedge force acts on a work supporting shaft 20, whose tip is contacted with a slant wedge surface 26a. Then the work supporting shaft 20 is protruded in the direction 9 against the elastic force of a spring 22, and a work supporting end 20a is closely contacted with the work 2. Meanwhile, wedge pieces 28, which are enclosed in the notches 29a of the linking bar 29, are elastically compressed by wedge piece spring 28b, and slant surfaces 28a are brought to the parts under the tips of the wedge shafts 26. Since the linking bar 29 is moved in the direction E, each wedge piece 28 is deeply engaged with a beveled surface 26a at the tip of each wedge shaft 26, in the order each work support 20 has reached the work 2. Thus each wedge shaft 26 is independently locked. After the locking is performed by all the wedge pieces, the linking bar 29 is stopped. |
