PURPOSE:To improve the durability of the codenser by a method wherein cooling tubes are protected from being damaged by letting flash steam containing drainage directly collide with cooling tubes and the like, when the drainage accompanied by the generation of a large amount of the flash steam is introduced in the condenser. CONSTITUTION:Two phase fluid flowing out of the openings 33 of a drainage introductory piping 32 collides with baffle plates 34 and parts in two directions as indicated with the arrows so as to jet out of the respective outlet surfaces 35. A part of said jetted-out stream strikes against perforated plates 36 so as to change its direction of stream and the other part of said jetted-out stream passes through the holes of the perforated plates 36 so as to flow parallel to the cooling tubes 30. Further, said part of stream changed its direction by the perforated plates 36 collides with shield plates 37 so as to be changed its direction again. Because open spaces lie in the vertical direction of the perforated plates 36 and the shield plates 37, a large portion of the steam changes its direction so as to flow vertically. During its flowing in such a manner as mentioned above, the steam is decelerated and finally brought into contact with the surface of the cooling tubes 30, resulting in condensing into condensate. |
