PURPOSE:To provide a bearing device for supporting the upper shaft of a vertical rotor which can automatically follow the axial expansion and contraction by supporting the upper shaft on the spherical surface of a movable member disposed in an oil tank through a spherical journal in such a manner as to move vertically. CONSTITUTION:Lubricating oil 3 is stored in an oil tank 1 fixed to a stationary portion 2, and the forward end portion of an upper shaft 9 of a vertical rotor is inserted into holes 7, 8 disposed on respective central portions of an intermediate partition wall 5 and a bottom wall 4 of the oil tank 1. A hemispherical spherical sheet journal 15 having a spiral groove 14 on the surface thereof is fixed to the forward end portion of the upper shaft 9 positioned in the oil tank 1, and a movable member 17 having a hemispherical spherical bearing seat 16 at the lower surface in which the spherical sheet journal 15 is fitted is disposed above the journal. Thus, when the vertical rotor rotates, the lubricating oil 3 flows into the groove 14 to form an oil layer gap 20 between the spherical sheet journal 15 and the spherical bearing seat 16, so that buoyancy is applied to the movable member 17 by pressure of the oil layer so as to achieve the expected object. |
