PURPOSE:To obtain easily a stepped mat, by providing movably a cooler and a cutter subsequent to a calender, and permitting a rolling machine having a step roll to be moved laterally into the space between the calender and the cooler, in an apparatus for producing a stepped mat by a calendering system. CONSTITUTION:In a mat manufacturing apparatus in which after a thermoplastic synthetic resin material is kneaded by kneaders 1, 2, it is calendered by the calender 3, is cooled to set, and is cut into a prescribed length, the cooler 4 and the cutter 5 subsequent to the calender 3 are movably provided through rails 6. The rolling machine 8 having a stepped roll can be moved laterally through rails 9 into the space that will be made when the calender 3 and the cooler 4 are moved, and the calender 3 and the rolling machine 8 can be driven synchronously by a chain. Thus, a stepped mat 11 having a step at the center can be readily obtained. |
