NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I [R<1> is H or lower alkyl; R<2> is H, or group shown by the formula -COOR<1> (R<4> is lower alkyl) ; R<3> is H, or OH; n is 1-6]. EXAMPLE:N-(3,7-Dimethyl-2,6-octadienoyl)dopamine. USE:A sympathetic stimulant (e.g., remedy or preventive for allergosis such as asthmatic rhinitis, etc., vasocontrictor, cardiac, etc.). Useful further as a drug based on cyclic AMP increasing action, and prolonged PTH secretion action. PROCESS:A polyprenylcarboxylic acid shown by the formula II or its reactive derivative is reacted with an amino compound shown by the formula III to give a compound shown by the formula I . The reaction is usually carried out in the presence of a base (e.g., TEA) in a solvent (e.g., CH2Cl2) at room temperature or under cooling.
