The invention concerns a method and an arrangement for producing hollow workpieces, especially steel pipe, wherein one continuously or discontinuously brings molten metal into a tight receptacle, inside which one creates sufficient pressure to force the metal 4 into a mould 5 for continuous passage, where it gradually cools, and from which one pulls out a pipe 14 upward, while the ascending full strand 4 is placed in rotation about the axis of the mould 5, at the same time as one regulates the speed of rotation of the flowing metal 4. The purpose of the invention is to specify a method and an arrangement allowing exact dynamic regulation of the wall thickness of the produced workpiece and preferably allowing such regulation to be performed automatically. According to the invention, the wall thickness in the hollow workpiece 14 is regulated by regulating the speed of drawing and the speed of rotation of the flowing metal.
