The invention relates to a device for cutting off and transporting peat or similar. The device comprises an endless chain and cutting blades (4) and transport flanges (5) spaced apart along said chain. In order to improve the efficiency of the device, each cutting blade (4) is formed of a plate-like piece into an element of U-shaped cross-section in which the legs join the plate-like parts of the outer element (3) of the chain. The transport flange (4) is fastened to the front surface of the cutting blade (4) so that an opening is left between the upper edge of the transport flange and the substantially horizontal part of the cutting blade (4). <IMAGE> |
