PURPOSE:To detect the temp. rise of a fiber prior to disconnection and to prevent disconnection by cooling by providing a wire or film having a large coefft. of resistance temp. along the outside circumference of the fiber. CONSTITUTION:A platinum wire having about 0.03mm. diameter is wound on the outside circumferential surface of a fiber 1 having 1mm. outside diameter and 1m length at 10cm (part A, C) from the input and output ends at 1mm. pitch and a platinum wire having about 0.05mm. diameter is wound at 5mm. pitch in the remaining part (part B). The resistance values of the platinum wires in the parts A, B, C are all 50OMEGA (20 deg.C). The changes in resistance owing to the temp. in the parts A, B, C are all 0.2OMEGA at each 1 deg.C. |
