Chain is intended for suspending a killed pig or other animal by the leg during operations in a slaughter-house. The lowermost chain link is secured to a bush which is slidable on the chain portion above it, thus providing a loop, whilst the uppermost link is connected to a hook or the like which is movable along an overhead transport rail. A ring-shaped further bush is vertically slidable around the first bush below a stop thereon and contains a transverse looking pin which is movable parallel to itself towards and away from the centre line of the first bush.
