PURPOSE:To effectively suppress formation of powdered dust by jetting-out, for polishing, the slag blast-pulverized in converter furnace which has a specific particle diameter and is damped by addition of water in a specific ratio, onto the surface to be polished by means of the compressed air, as the pre-processing method for painting onto a steel construction etc. CONSTITUTION:When the slag blasting-pulverized in converter furnace obtained by spraying air onto the molten slag generated as the by-product in the steel production process in converter furnace and quenching said slag, is used as polishing material, the particle diameter of the slag is preferably 0.2-3.0mm.. The amount of water for damping the slag blast-pulverized in converter furnace is preferably 0.01-1pt.wt. to 10 parts of the slag blast-pulverized in converter furnace by weight. The slag blast- pulverized in converter furnace thus damped is taken-out from a tank by means of the compressed air, and jetted-out onto the surface to be polished. The polishing material A in a tank 13a is taken-out by means of the compressed air, and jetted-out from a nozzle 13c onto a test piece 12 in a test chamber 11 of an experimental apparatus. In the measurement of the amount of formation of powdered dust, the powdered dust sucked into a vacuum cleaner 14 is taken onto a filter paper 15, and the change of weight of the filter paper 15 is measured. |
