<p>The road trailer has a main chassis whose forward end is provided with a disc rotatable about a central vertical axis and coupled to a (saddle) tractor (or the axle of a steerable front wheel set) whilst the rear end has one (as shown) or more wheel sets (8) whose axle is rotatable (disc 9) about a central vertical axis. A coupling beam (10; 11-13; 14-17) has its ends pivoted (6) to the disc and the axle respectively, the two pivot points being eccentrically arranged to opposite sides of the longitudinal centre line of the trailer. The eccentricity at the front is pref. smaller than that at the rear. The beam is pref. supported in slide bearings (19).</p> |
